Dude,
This letter started with weekly Wednesdays, then transitioned to bi-weekly Thursdays. A late Thursday looks like a Friday, and Fridays are pretty the weekend… Not to mention topics—which have pretty much gone out the window.
But hey, if you want timely, topical letters, go get an AI penpal. Or a phone-buddy—have you heard a voice demo of the new Sesame AI yet? (No need to click, TL;DR— it sounds very human and is one more way that life as we know it is becoming life as we have never known it.)
So let’s forget schedules and topics and just have a quick catch up. I’ll go first. Here’s what’s up since I last wrote —assisted by my phone-camera roll:
I went to a fun mock Awards show with acceptance speeches from Monstruo from the The Substance, the tennis ball from Champions, and the atom bomb from Oppenheimer. I took only one picture, and it was in the bathroom.
My slo-mo decluttering project continues with this bag I ordered from GotSneakers to recycle some old athletic shoes. I worried the bag might not be big enough, but the opposite was true. It’s about the size of a yard-size trash bag, and they prefer you fill it before returning it, so ironically, I’m now soliciting more unused shoes from family and friends.
My brother had a little surgery, but he’s going to be fine. Here he is in the recovery room, more than a little woozy. I want that space-blanket-duvet thing. Don’t know if he’d love this picture, but that’s the danger of not reading my ‘stack. March is colon cancer awareness month by the way — get those scans, folks!
Here’s a much cuter picture of Paul’s mom, who is staying with us while his brother’s house is being remediated after a leak. Living with us is like living in a non-drinking frat house, so I think she’s ready to go home, but she’s being a trooper about it.
That’s it, a little snapshot of life in snapshots. Does Substack let you leave a snapshot in the comments? Try and find out!
Hang in there, whatever’s on your photo roll.
Your friend,
B
Stay tuned… will test the downloading of a pic from my last week’s photo roll
